How to Sync Your Steam Library and Find Shared Co-Op Games

You and your friends probably own dozens of the same co-op games without knowing it. Here's how to find them in seconds by syncing your Steam libraries.

Why Sync Your Steam Library?

The average Steam user owns 90+ games. In a group of 4, that's potentially 360 games — but only a fraction are co-op, and even fewer are owned by everyone. Manually comparing libraries is tedious. Syncing automates it: you get an instant view of every co-op game your group shares.

Step 1: Make Your Steam Profile Public

Steam profiles are private by default. To sync, you'll need to temporarily set your game details to public. Go to Steam → Profile → Edit Profile → Privacy Settings → Game Details → Public. You can set it back to private after the initial sync.

Step 2: Connect Your Steam ID

In Co-Op Now, go to Settings → Steam and paste your Steam profile URL or Steam ID. The platform reads your game list (not personal data, not playtime in most cases) and matches it against our co-op game database.

Paste your Steam ID and discover shared games instantly.

Step 3: Join a Group

Create a group or join one with an invite link. Once two or more members have synced their libraries, Co-Op Now automatically calculates the overlap — showing which co-op games you all own, who's missing what, and what you could buy as a group.

Privacy and Security

Co-Op Now only reads your public game list. We don't access your Steam password, payment info, or personal messages. Your Steam ID is stored securely and only used to fetch your game library. You can disconnect at any time from Settings.

Troubleshooting

If your games aren't showing up: (1) Make sure your Steam profile game details are set to Public, (2) Wait a few minutes — Steam's API can be slow, (3) Try re-syncing from Settings. If a specific game is missing from our database, use the 'Add Game' feature to request it.

Ready to try it? Sign up, paste your Steam ID in Settings, and see your co-op library in seconds.
